TERMS
Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and Speechy. Please read them; by installing or using Speechy you accept them.
1. The agreement
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are between Armstrong Image LLC ("Speechy", "we", "us") and the person or organization that installs or uses Speechy ("you"). If you install Speechy for an organization, you confirm you have authority to accept these Terms for it, and "you" includes that organization. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information and is part of these Terms.
2. The service
Speechy is an app for Zoom that provides live, AI-generated interpretation of meeting speech into languages the host chooses, delivered through Zoom's language interpretation channels. Using Speechy requires a Zoom account and Zoom plan that support apps and language interpretation, and your use of Zoom remains subject to Zoom's own terms. We may change, improve or discontinue features; we will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce the service you pay for.
3. AI interpretation has limits
Speechy's interpretation is produced automatically by AI. It can be delayed, incomplete or wrong, including with names, numbers, technical, legal, medical or religious terms, accents, overlapping speech or poor audio. Do not rely on Speechy where an error could cause harm — for example legal proceedings, medical or emergency information, or situations that require a certified human interpreter. You are responsible for deciding whether Speechy is appropriate for each meeting.
4. Your responsibilities
- Give meeting participants appropriate notice that live AI interpretation is in use and obtain any consent required by law or your policies, including for minors.
- Use Speechy only in meetings you host or co-host, and only lawfully.
- Do not use Speechy to harass, deceive or infringe others' rights; to process content you have no right to share; or to build a competing service.
- Do not attempt to access other customers' data, interfere with or overload the service, bypass usage limits, or reverse engineer it except as the law allows.
- Keep your Zoom account secure. Activity from your Zoom account is your responsibility.
5. Plans, usage and payment
Usage is measured in interpretation minutes: each minute of interpretation into one language counts as one minute, so one hour into three languages uses 180 minutes. The number of listeners does not change usage. Each plan's monthly minutes, number of languages at once, and price are shown on the Plans page. Unused minutes do not roll over. Interpretation stops when a plan's minutes run out. A plan belongs to your Zoom account and its minutes are shared by everyone in it. Only the Zoom account's owner or an admin can buy or change a plan, on the account page (sign in with Zoom). Payments are processed by Stripe. Paid plans renew monthly until cancelled; you can cancel at any time effective at the end of the current billing month, and fees already paid are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal. Prices exclude taxes.
6. Your content
You keep all rights to your meetings and their content. You give us permission to process meeting audio and generate translations only to provide the service to you. We do not store meeting audio, translations or transcripts, and we do not use them to train AI models.
7. Our property
Speechy, its software and its brand belong to us and our licensors. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Speechy under these Terms while your plan is active. Feedback you send us may be used freely.
8. Suspension and ending the agreement
You can stop using Speechy and remove it from Zoom at any time; removal deletes your data as our Privacy Policy describes. Removing Speechy does not cancel a paid plan; cancel it on your account page. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, fail to pay, or if your use threatens the security or stability of the service or others, and we will tell you why unless we are prohibited from doing so. Sections 3, 6–7 and 9–12 survive the end of the agreement.
9. Disclaimers
Except as expressly stated in these Terms, Speechy is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, and we do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Speechy depends on Zoom and other providers whose availability we do not control.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, and our total liability for all claims relating to Speechy is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US $100. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them.
11. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Speechy against third-party claims arising from your meetings' content, your failure to give required notice or obtain required consent, or your breach of these Terms.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, each party will try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days after written notice. Any claim will be brought in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction, except that either party may seek urgent relief in any competent court and small-claims matters may be brought where allowed.
13. General
We may update these Terms by posting a new version here with a new date; for material changes we will notify account owners at least 30 days before they apply, and continuing to use Speechy after that means you accept them. These Terms are the entire agreement about Speechy. If any part is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Neither party may assign these Terms without the other's consent, except in a merger or sale of the business. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
